Saugerties Soccer Requests

We are not able to accept placement requests from, or for any child. The only requests that are accepted are for:

    • Sponsors - We will accept a request for one child to be put on a paid sponsors team

    • Coach - We will accept a request to assign the child of a coach to that coaches team

    • Assistant Coach - We will accept a request to assign the child of an assistant coach to that coaches team

*Note - We can only take a request from the above people if they register on time. We can not accept any requests from the above people during the late registration period.

How about siblings on the same team?
We will make every effort to put siblings of the same gender and same age bracket on the same team.

Why won't you take any other requests?
The job of making teams is difficult enough without the constant interruptions of special requests. We would love to be able to fill all of the requests we get, but it is just not within our ability. We have to keep the teams balanced, which is difficult if we have requests for multiple players on a team. Remember the job of making up the teams is done by only a few people.

Why are there so few people making the team rosters?
Because there are so few volunteers.
Remember, the more volunteers we have the more we can accomplish. If everyone that had a special request was to sign up to: coach, assistant coach, referee, make schedules, work the snackbar, do keyboarding, be a board member, work on a committee, .... or even volunteer to make up team rosters, we would have enough help to fulfill everybody's needs. Until then we will we will stick with our standing policy of no requests.
